Au 2021 Salon de l'électronique grand public (CES) à Las Vegas, renowned South Korean health appliance leader Coway captured global attention from international buyers and tech media alike. Coway showcased its cutting-edge lineup of intelligent water purification systems—featuring advanced smart control mainboards and HMI display modules independently researched and developed by EWA.
EWA’s engineering team was deeply involved from the ground up, partnering with Coway through every critical phase, including initial product R&D, hardware layout design, and software human-machine interface (HMI) interaction development.
At the exhibition floor, global buyers and visitors experienced firsthand the smooth capacitive touch responsiveness, real-time water quality monitoring, automated filter replacement alerts, and seamless IoT smartphone app connectivity powered by EWA’s customized control solutions. This technological synergy provided robust support for Coway as it expanded its footprint across North American and global smart home markets.
| Collaboration Stage | Key Capability | Project Value |
|---|---|---|
| Collaborative R&D | Joint hardware and software HMI architecture | Enables integrated product development |
| Smart Integration | Water quality tracking and IoT app synchronization | Connects device functions with smart monitoring |
| Full-Process Synergy | End-to-end management from prototype to mass production | Supports efficient project execution and scalable manufacturing |
Engineering Excellence: Custom HMI Display & Control Solutions
Developing control electronics for high-end home appliances requires rigorous technical precision. For Coway’s flagship water purifiers, EWA engineered an integrated display and control architecture designed to deliver flawless user experiences:
-
Intuitive HMI Design: The custom interface provides instant visual feedback for water temperature, volume selection, and real-time TDS water purity metrics.
-
Smart IoT Connectivity: Integrated Wi-Fi and microcontroller modules enable remote diagnostics, automated filter life tracking, and mobile app synchronization.
-
Industrial-Grade Stability: Built to withstand continuous domestic usage cycles, electrical surges, and moisture exposure typical of kitchen and utility environments.
Full-Process Synergy from R&D to Mass Production
The success at CES 2021 highlights the maturity of the strategic alliance between EWA and Coway. Rather than acting as a simple component supplier, EWA operates as a full-lifecycle engineering partner.
From initial conceptual feasibility studies and rigorous electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing to volume manufacturing and supply chain agility, both teams maintain a synchronized workflow. This end-to-end synergy ensures that every batch of control modules meets international quality certifications and strict delivery schedules.
